Now in my second year of a BTEC National Diploma in graphic design, nearing the end, I have defiantly found my passion in illustration and hope to follow it for as long as I can. Drawing with pens, ink, or using the Mac and photography are some of my favorite pass times at the moment, combined with a huge love for tattoo’s and music.

I am an artists whose work mainly evolves around the use of silkscreen prints & single to multi-layered hand cut stencils. These can range from anything from A5 up to double A0 in size.

Although currently I am only experimenting with stencils, I also dabble in the processes of silkscreen printing, lino cutting, illustration, graphic design and hand drawn computer altered images.

I use a lot of symbolism within all of my works. Nothing ever means what it may seem upon first inspection.

I am a graphic designer running my own business, Stonecastle Graphics, from a studio in Sutton Valence, Kent, and I now mainly specialise in creating, designing and producing illustrated books for major publishers. More recently I have started an independent book publishing company, Touchstone Books, with three colleagues.
I have always been a keen photographer and my pictures have appeared in exhibitions, competitions and on the pages of magazines and books. My photographs of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the WTC in New York were included in a memorial exhibition at the Old Saatchi Gallery on the first anniversary to raise funds for the NY Firefighters Disaster Fund. As an artist I have exhibited paintings at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

Over the past year, the BA, and HND years 1 and 2 have been completing many difficult and challenging tasks in order to complete their course.

We have decided to put on a show of the best work from our students, showing the ability and skills they have acquired. We hope this week will be a success and will inspire others to get in touch with their creative side.

At the viewing we will also have catalogues available displaying the best work shown. Again, this will be something for people to look back on and for students to reflect on what they have accomplished over the last year.

BA (Hons) Visual Arts — Graphic Design Pathway

Over the past year, the BA students, have been focused on developing their own practice and developing a body of work. Which with carry them into a future position within the Design Industry or alternative.

In celebration of their endeavours, we will be showcasing a selection of their work for a public viewing.

This will event will be held at St. Marys Hall, Church Lane, Canterbury. A converted church owned by The Kings School, Canterbury. And dedicated performance space.

We hope this week will be a success and will inspire others to get in touch with their creative side. There will be a catalogue available at the event, of the best work shown.
