Stephen Forrest is a fine art photographer encompassing a range of genres.

I am a multimedia schitzophrenic. I work in any medium that will enhance the experience of creating, and seeing. I paint, draw, make beaded items and chainmaille, create felted images and would be nothing without my beloved  photography…

I am a photographer specialising in portraiture and still-life subjects. For most of my work I use a trusty Hasselblad with film and chemistry to produce images that I hope convey a sense of purpose and consideration. I teach part-time in the Photography Department at Canterbury College and devote the rest of my time to my own projects and to music.

I have been a photographer for over 35 years. I started my career as a photographer and writer for a Spanish language newspaper in Toronto, Canada, in 1975. I covered news events and worked as an assistant in a commercial photo-studio until 1983.
In 1984, after relocating to San Francisco, California, I decided to concentrate on portrait photography.
In the course of the past 25 years I have met and photographed artists of  many different nationalities. In 1995 I moved back to Colombia, to teach photography at the Universidad del Valle, in my hometown of Cali.
In the year 2000 I moved to Kent. Here, I have continued my endless quest for portraiture, and  I have found my home in the Photography Department at Canterbury College.
