Tony Ross-Gower

Hello. Tony here.
I have been making displaying and demonstrating hand-thrown domestic and ornamental pottery since graduating from Stoke Poly in the mid-70’s. My work is all about form, poise and function. It is heavily influenced by the Leach/Hamada era that spawned the contemporary ’studio’ movement and I like to think my work reflcts these traditions. I also have a particular interest in, and love of ‘Raku’ style of which the chosen photo is an example. I am presently enjoying the most creative and productive phase of my life and look forward this Summer to firing the 30 cu ft ‘fast wood fired’ kiln I built last year with Roger Target. My ware is mainly ‘Bespoke’ though I am increasingly interested in commissions.
