Recently, I was lucky enough to have two of my photographs used on ILFORD photo paper packaging.

I have shown work in solo and group exhibitions and am an active member of various online photographic communities. I am a member of the Arena Group, and have exhibited in various galleries including the Independent Photographers Gallery in Battle, East Sussex.

Taking photos is more of an obsession of mine than a career. Being around nature makes me more than happy.

Combining the two is a not so guilty pleasure of mine and the outcome is a photographic memory that I can keep forever.

RavinderFrank are a duet of digital artists working as a jugalbandhi where, the whole is bigger then the sums of it parts. Their work medium is digital photo montages, complemented with mixed media and textile art. They mix old school with the latest tech.

Their work makes a heavy use of textual noises and layers to mashup and twist existing images into something new and unexpected.

They are part of the xross-polynation artistic collective which aims to blur the boundaries between race, age, sex, nations and any other boundary you can think of.

They have taken the ideas of Xross-polynation forward upon a blank canvas with the creative harmony and esthetic discord between an Indian and a British artist.

My art background is in sculpture, but photography has always been a passion of mine, from documenting my art work to projecting images digitally in to installation spaces. I now use photography as a creative tool to explore environments that have a sense of time and place and often find themes of abandonment within my work.

My artwork focuses on loss of identity, gender reversal, stories and myths, dreams and fantasy all linked together with my strive for, just a little, escapism.

My work focuses on pushing the boundaries of what can be done with a camera. I like to think of my camera as being just as expressive as a paintbrush. My photographs convey warped representations of reality that possess a sense of movement provided by my experimentations with exposure length and my desire to create pieces that are somewhere between still and moving. Something that continues to interest me is the great level of possibility a single frame can offer. In one 30-second exposure, there is vast opportunity for activity, modification and chance events to occur. I share the feelings of Gerhard Richter when he said “I like the indefinite, the boundless; I like continual uncertainty.”

I have been influenced by painter’s such as William Turner and Caspar David Friedrich. This has resulted in my images being full of intense colours and having a romantic haze about them. The work is similar to Gregory Crewdson’s in the way that I photograph at sunset or in the dark and my outdoor scenes of nature are illuminated with dominant artificial lighting. I believe this gives it a magical, dreamlike element. My studies with flash, exposures, moving the camera and choice of settings and locations contribute to providing an otherworldly feel.

I create art that has a cinematic appearance. This is achieved by manipulating the lighting, ensuring a significant level of darkness to scenes. It is important for me to create attractive, thought-provoking photographs that show things in a way that is not usual. On the whole, the images are large-scale. They take the form of prints and sometimes projections. One of my main interests is how the juxtaposition of various images can create or affect narratives. Some of my main concerns are the techniques possible with using a camera, using minimal post-production editing and creating visually pleasing work.
