My aim is to bring a new dimension to textile design, examining various making processes in fabric and fibres. My work is individual and hand crafted. Although I have considered mass production of some designs, as a possible avenue to take, I feel that this would depreciate the essence of individuality in my work.
I undertake commissions for fashion accessories & home furnishings but my real passion is in the creation of textile wall hangings using mixed fibres incorporating traditional needlecraft methods. These include patchwork, applique, embroidery and weaving. For this exhibition I am showing paintings as well as textiles, my aim is to use these as a starting point for future designs in textiles.

Art Lands On Alien Landscape
The weekends of April 30 – May 15 2011
The decline of the seaside arcade and sideshow has left Margate with a significant cultural void, yet the regeneration that attempts to fill that gap is forced to negotiate the town’s strong incumbent identity.
Art Lands On Alien Landscape is an exhibition of art events exploring the relationship between art and the town of Margate, taking place during the opening season of Turner Contemporary.
Art Lands On Alien Landscape follows on from last year’s Dead Season: Live Art and is accompanied by a limited edition publication containing works that extend and further explore the programmes events.
Details of individual events taking place as part of the programme can be found at our website www.limboarts.co.uk

Zoe Cloke
Not following
30th March to 5th April
Horsebridge Arts and Community Centre, Whitstable
Zoe is a photographer and graphic artist, drawing inspiration from what she sees through the lens to create images that can incorporate a range of graphical enhancements. Some images may remain exactly as they came out of the camera, whilst others will be purely graphical, but inspired by a selection of images. Whilst some of the work follows a particular style, much of the ideas come about from “not following” but enjoying and evolving a piece of work.
The works focus on abstract and landscape art, including some light-hearted educational prints aimed at children. The majority of the work will be either unlimited photographic prints or limited edition Giclée prints.
Zoe also creates commissioned work of portraits, landscapes and personalised art for children, examples of this will be on display.
